The Newly Opened Madera 83 Promises Authentic Spanish Tapas and Wine
Spanish-style tapas are designed to share with friends before dinner with a glass or two of fine wine. Madera 83 in Charlestown opened two months ago in order to create this European experience in your community. The eatery boasts a large list of traditional and not-so-traditional tapas that are perfect for pairing with one of its 40 wines by the glass or a craft cocktail.
The chef enlists local farmers and fishermen to provide his ingredients, so each Spanish dish offers some New England flair. Order the tortilla de patatas, a classic potato omelet with creme fraiche and garlic, plus crispy brussels sprouts drizzled with Spanish olive oil and dusted with sea salt. Add the marinated Cape clams with cured ham, seared octopus with Catalan Sofrito, and grass-fed beef sliders with piquillo relish and aioli. Wash down your meal with white cider sangria, a local craft beer, or wine from Spain or Portugal.
